foodle game
Welcome to Foodle - a focused food word game built for people who like their daily puzzle with a little flavor. Guess a five-, six-, or seven-letter food word, choose Daily, Hourly, or Unlimited play, and unlock a quick story about the dish, ingredient, or technique you found.
Why play Foodle here?
Three ways to play
Keep the daily ritual, come back every hour, or settle into Unlimited mode whenever you want another round.
Food words with context
Every answer is a real food word, from familiar snacks to dishes and ingredients with roots around the world.
A cleaner puzzle loop
Track streaks, study your guess distribution, share results, and use hints that help without handing the answer away.
How to play
Pick a word length, type any real word of that length, and press Enter. Each guess fills the row, then flips to show which letters are correct, close, or absent.
Daily mode gives you one shared puzzle each day. Hourly mode serves a fresh word at the top of every hour. Unlimited mode lets you keep playing as long as the kitchen is still open.
If you're stuck, the 💡 Hint button reveals layered clues such as origin, first letter, and another useful letter - but each hint costs one of your remaining guesses.
- Green - the letter is in the word and in the right spot.
- Yellow - the letter is in the word, but somewhere else.
- Gray - the letter is not in the word at all.
Tips for the daily board
- Open with useful vowels. Food words often lean on A, E, I, and O, so a vowel-rich first guess can clear space fast.
- Keep confirmed letters locked. Once a tile turns green, build around it instead of retesting the same position.
- Watch for repeated letters. Foodle words like CHEESE, COFFEE, and BANANA all reward players who notice doubles.
- Use length as a difficulty dial. Five-letter boards feel quick, while six- and seven-letter boards open up a wider food vocabulary.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Foodle different from other food word games?
Foodle is built as a focused puzzle experience: Daily, Hourly, and Unlimited modes, 5-7 letter boards, stats, streaks, layered hints, and a short food story after each solved word.
What time does the daily word change?
At local midnight, in your time zone. We pick a deterministic word per calendar day.
Can I play yesterday's puzzle?
Not on the daily board. If you want unlimited replays, hop over to Unlimited mode. If you want a fresh puzzle every hour, try Hourly.
Are the words always English?
Yes - common-English food words from around the world. Loanwords like RAMEN, KIMCHI, GELATO, and MATCHA are fair game.
Is there a hint penalty?
Each hint you reveal costs one of your remaining guesses. Three hints are available per puzzle.
Can I change the word length?
Yes. Use the 5, 6, and 7 controls above the board to switch lengths. Each length has its own food word pool.
Where are my stats stored?
Right on your device, in your browser's local storage. We do not require user accounts.
